Jean Amblard drew throughout his entire life.
Demobilised in Auvergne, Jean Amblard returned to occupied Paris. Going underground with his friends Taslitzky, Fougeron and Pignon in the National Front of the Arts, he continued to draw his neighbourhood, his friends and the women he sheltered.
Indian ink, charcoal, sepia, graphite, even ballpoint pen and felt-tip pens, on all types of paper, tracing paper… all techniques suited him and complemented each other.
A few sketches, from the 1940s to the 1980s.
A final trip took Jean Amblard to Turkey, to Kumburgaz beach, in the late 1980s.
